In a somber development, Blessing William, a resident of Ogbumbada compound in Rumalogu, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, was discovered deceased in her apartment. A confidential source revealed to Saturday PUNCH that the single mother had been facing challenging circumstances.

The informant recounted, “This Thursday morning, I was at home when the son passed by. Upon inquiry about his mother’s well-being, he assured my mother that she was fine. Later, my mother instructed the boy to return home, freshen up, and then come back for some financial assistance.”

“Approximately 20 minutes later, the boy urgently returned, expressing concern that his repeated calls to his mother went unanswered. Accompanying him, we sadly confirmed the woman’s lifeless state. Remarkably, for three days, we had been providing sustenance for them.”

This tragic incident follows the recent discovery of a deceased female University of Port Harcourt student in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area. Additionally, it occurred weeks after the reported finding of the decomposed body of another university student, Justina Otuene, in her former lover’s apartment in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor.

Despite attempts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, regarding this latest occurrence, all efforts proved unsuccessful up to the time of filing this report on Friday afternoon. Iringe-Koko remained unreachable via both phone calls and text messages.
