FUNAAB Student Arrested For Poisoning His Girlfriend
In a disturbing incident, Oladokun Ayomide, a final-year student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command on charges of poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and another female, Odumosu Semilore. The suspect allegedly lured his girlfriend to his residence in the Surulere community in the Camp area of the city, administering a toxic concoction believed to contain brownie cakes, alcohol, and an unidentified harmful substance.
Sources indicate that Mmasichukwu had invited her schoolmate, Semilore, to accompany her to Ayomide’s place. Subsequent to consuming the suspected poisonous substance, both victims lost consciousness, prompting their immediate rush to the hospital.
While the motive behind Ayomide’s actions remains undisclosed, preliminary investigations by the police suggest an intention to harm the victims. Chief Security Officer Olusola Ajibola, leading the arrest, reported that Mmasichukwu and Semilore were students of the institution, with Ayomide being a final-year student at FUNAAB.
Responding to the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that the victims are currently undergoing treatment, emphasizing an ongoing investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the disturbing event. Odutola revealed the discovery of a foil paper pack used for the brownie cake at the crime scene, underscoring the severity of the case. The suspect has been handed over to the police division by the school’s Chief Security Officer.
