1 person Killed As Youths Clash With Bandits In Sokoto State
In a tragic incident on Saturday, the Nigerian Police Force, Sokoto State Command, has officially verified the death of an individual as the spirited youth of a Sokoto community bravely thwarted bandits attempting to assail their locality. Ahmad Rufai, the spokesperson for the state command, affirmed the occurrence, stating that the bandits, in an endeavor to raid Kwakwala community in the Sokoto metropolis, engaged in a fierce confrontation with the local youth.
According to Rufai, “Based on the information at our disposal, approximately 10 suspected bandits, armed with cutlasses and Dane guns, launched an assault on a community situated behind the main campus of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. The resilient youth of the area vehemently resisted the attack, resulting in a shootout where one of the youths, identified as Usman, succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds. Additionally, four other youths from the Kwalkwala and Dundaye community sustained varying degrees of injuries during the assault.”
