Kogi State Government Vows to Bring Justice to Kidnapped and Slain Traditional Ruler

The traditional ruler of Aghara Bunu in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State was reportedly kidnapped and killed by unknown assailants last week. In response, the Kogi Government has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, described the incident as “horrendous, criminal and reprehensible” and pledged that the government will work with security agencies to ensure that those responsible face the full wrath of the law. Fanwo expressed sadness over the attack on the peaceful community and the deaths of a woman and a young lady during the kidnapping. He reassured the public that the government will continue to strengthen its anti-crime architecture to prevent breaches of the peace and urged locals to cooperate with security agencies in order to unravel the mystery behind the heinous acts. The commissioner also disclosed that progress has been made in the investigation and that reports will be made public once concluded.
