Suspected Serial Killer and Ritualist Arrested in Ogun state by Police
A suspected member of a ritualist gang, accused of murdering and dismembering Oyindamola Adeyemi in Ijebu-Ode on January 28, has been arrested by the Police Command in Ogun. The suspect was taken into custody on Friday in the Ijade-Iloti area of Ijebu-Ode following an intelligence-based investigation by detectives from the Obalende Divisional Headquarters. Other members of the gang had been arrested earlier. When the suspect was apprehended, he attempted to bribe the arresting officers with N1 million, but the bribe was declined. The suspect had fled after being implicated by his accomplices, who claimed he bought the victim’s two legs. He confessed to being part of the syndicate and admitted to severing the deceased’s two legs for ritual purposes. The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department to face prosecution with his accomplices.
