EFCC Arrests 43 Suspects, Including a Fake Police Officer, for Internet Fraud in Ogun State

On Friday in Ibadan, the spokesperson for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren, issued a statement announcing the arrest of 43 individuals, including a self-proclaimed police officer, for their alleged involvement in internet fraud activities. The arrest was made in Ijebu-Ode and Awa-Ijebu towns of Ogun State, based on actionable intelligence gathered by the commission. The recovered items from the suspects included 11 luxurious vehicles, several laptops, numerous iPhones, and Apple watches. One of the suspects was also found wearing golden teeth worth millions of naira. The EFCC has consistently warned against fraudulent activities and will charge the suspects to court once the investigations are concluded. This latest arrest marks another significant achievement for the commission.
