Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi, the Council Chairman of Agege Local Government, has taken steps to empower 20 residents by providing them with a financial boost of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) each, aimed at fostering self-sustainability.During the presentation of the cash donations on Sunday in Lagos, Alhaja Aminat Abdulsalam, an official representing Chairman Egunjobi, emphasized the importance of using the funds wisely to attain self-reliance and economic independence. She urged the recipients to utilize the amount as seed capital for initiating new businesses or enhancing existing ones, ensuring that the purpose of the grant is justified.Abdulsalam further reiterated the council’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the community, urging residents to continue supporting the administration led by Egunjobi. She emphasized that the empowerment program operates on a rotational basis, indicating that future batches of residents would also have the opportunity to benefit from similar schemes.Expressing gratitude, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Olayiwola Azeez, commended the council chairman for his persistent efforts in providing financial support to improve the residents’ well-being. Azeez stated his intention to utilize the funds to bolster his existing business and generate greater profits.Another beneficiary, Mrs. Mojisola Omodele, lauded Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi for his benevolence and expressed her plans to utilize the money for initiating a new business within her community. Omodele acknowledged the significant impact this financial aid would have on improving her own welfare and that of her family.Over the course of the past four years, hundreds of residents have benefited from this empowering initiative spearheaded by Chairman Egunjobi’s administration, as reported by NAN.
