Labourer’s Demise in Lagos Church Soakaway Ignites Fear and Suspicion
In a distressing turn of events, a labourer known only as Dogo met his untimely demise after plunging into a septic tank owned by a local church in the Badore area of Lagos State. The incident occurred on Friday while the deceased was engaged by the church authorities to carry out work on the premises.According to a reliable source within the vicinity, the middle-aged worker had commenced his duties when he suddenly vanished from his designated spot, raising concerns among those present at the church compound.The source revealed, “Once it became apparent that he was missing from his work area, a search was initiated. It was during this search that his lifeless body was tragically discovered in the depths of the septic tank.”The news of the incident sent shockwaves throughout the community, with residents voicing speculations regarding the circumstances of the labourer’s death. Some alleged that he had fallen victim to a ritualistic act, while others claimed his body had been mutilated.When approached for comment, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of Lagos State, confirmed the incident’s occurrence.Hundeyin stated, “An individual was hired to empty the church’s septic tank. Tragically, he lost his balance and fell into the tank while carrying out his duties. He was promptly rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Subsequently, a group of enraged youths set fire to the church. I can confirm that the body did not suffer any mutilation. The police were present at the scene, documenting the incident, and no signs of body parts being removed were detected. As of now, no arrests have been made.”This tragic occurrence has left the local community in a state of shock and disbelief.
