Herdsman Hacks Girl To Death Because Of Sex in Kwara state
In a disturbing incident, Mohammed Abubakar, a 25-year-old cattle rearer, has been brought before a Magistrate Court in Ilọrin, the capital of Kwara State. Abubakar stands accused of inflicting bodily harm on a young girl named Mohammed Aisha, reportedly over a sexual matter. The charges leveled against him include causing grievous hurt and attempting to commit culpable homicide, both of which are in violation of sections 246 and 299 of the penal code law of Kwara State.According to the police’s first information report, the case was initiated following a report made at Lafiagi Police Station by Dr. S.K. Suleiman, the Medical Director of General Hospital, Lafiagi. Dr. Suleiman recounted the victim’s harrowing ordeal during her treatment, stating that she, along with her sisters Hassana and Adishetu, ventured into the bush in search of Shea butter. It was there that they were allegedly attacked by the suspect, who inflicted a deep laceration on the victim’s head.Further investigation by the police unveiled a disturbing motive behind the attack. It was revealed that the accused, described as a Fulani, had purportedly demanded sexual intercourse from the victim and her two younger sisters. When they vehemently refused and sought refuge, the suspect pursued them, resulting in the severe injury sustained by Mohammed Aisha.The court proceedings will shed light on the alleged actions of Mohammed Abubakar and determine the appropriate legal consequences. The case has attracted significant attention due to its distressing nature and the need for justice to be served.
