Anambra Candidate Denies JAMB Forgery Claims with Video Evidence

Mmesoma Ejikeme, a candidate from Anambra state, has firmly denied allegations made by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) that she forged her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. In a video obtained by our correspondent in Abuja, Ejikeme expressed her innocence and provided evidence to support her claim.JAMB, in a statement released on Sunday evening, accused Ejikeme of manually inflating her UTME score from 249 to 362, allowing her to secure a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. The scholarship was set to be awarded by the Anambra state government until the alleged forgery came to light.Among the cases outlined in JAMB’s statement, Ejikeme’s situation stood out as particularly egregious. The board claimed that she manipulated her UTME results to deceive the public and fraudulently obtain a scholarship, as well as other forms of recognition. In the video, Ejikeme introduced herself as Mmesoma Ejikeme and asserted her ownership of the UTME result in question. She explained that she obtained the result by accessing the JAMB portal and emphasized that the aggregate score displayed was 362. Ejikeme further revealed that when the QR code on her result was scanned, it revealed the name Omotola Afolabi, who allegedly scored 138. However, upon rechecking, Omotola’s score was reportedly amended to 338, casting doubt on the integrity of the results.Expressing her distress at the accusations of forgery, Ejikeme insisted that she was not capable of such fraudulent actions. She also highlighted the failure of both JAMB and the Department of State Services (DSS) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter before concluding that she had forged her results. As of the time of filing this report, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, had not yet responded to the video and the claims made by Ejikeme.
