Suspect Apprehended in Connection with Attack on Apostle Suleman
In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement authorities have apprehended a 32-year-old man identified as Yusuf Isah in connection with the heinous assault on Apostle Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide. The attack, which took place in October 2022 along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State, resulted in the tragic deaths of six individuals, including three police officers.The arrest of Isah came as the result of a rigorous investigation carried out by operatives of the Intelligence Rapid Team. The dedicated efforts of law enforcement personnel led to the retrieval of five AK-47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, and 180 live ammunition from the suspect’s possession.”With regard to the fatal attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy, along with the unfortunate loss of lives of Benin police personnel on October 21, 2022,” explained Adejobi, “our operatives from the FIB-IRT on Auchi road effectively apprehended one Yusuf Ismael Isah, a skilled plumber and native of Okene, Kogi State. The arrest took place at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State. During the operation, our team made the significant discovery of five AK-47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, 180 live ammunition, and four suspected improvised explosive devices within the suspect’s residence.”As the investigation unfolds, authorities anticipate that further details will emerge, shedding light on the motives and individuals involved in this brazen attack.
