Autopsy Concludes in Mohbad’s Mysterious Demise: Investigation Accelerates
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the completion of the autopsy in the case of the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. This development was conveyed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, during a recent telephone conversation with PUNCH Metro.
Hundeyin stated, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.”
In response to inquiries about arrests made in connection with the singer’s demise, Hundeyin indicated, “I can’t answer questions on the arrests yet because I don’t have that update. However, the nurse is in our custody; I can confirm that.”
Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, had earlier issued a direct and urgent directive to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohynwa, instructing him to initiate a swift and comprehensive investigation into the tragic passing of Mohbad.
According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, “The acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has issued a direct and urgent directive to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, instructing him to initiate a swift and comprehensive investigation into the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.”
Adejobi further disclosed that this directive was issued during a crucial discussion at the Police Airwing Hangar, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, September 16, 2023. The acting IGP tasked the Commissioner of Police to quickly and effectively uncover the truth behind the tragedy, acknowledging the concerns and speculations surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad’s untimely demise.
He concluded by urging family members or close associates with valuable information pertaining to the case to come forward and cooperate with the Lagos State Police Command, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that justice is served and that the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing are thoroughly examined.
