Rising Terror: Over 30 Farmers Abducted by Unknown Gunmen in Kaduna
Suspected terrorists, armed individuals, are reported to have carried out a mass abduction of more than 30 farmers during the early hours of Saturday in the Chikuri community, situated within the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A resident, Mr. Dogara Peter, who corroborated the distressing incident to The PUNCH on Saturday, revealed that both his mother and sister had fallen victim to this tragic event.
Peter recounted that the victims were taken while engaged in their agricultural activities on Maikudi’s Farms.
“Our community is currently grappling with confusion, as we have been unable to establish any form of communication with the kidnappers. We implore the security authorities and the government to promptly intervene and ensure the safe return of our fellow community members,” Peter stated.
In a lamentable revelation, Peter conveyed that this marked the third instance of kidnappings involving individuals from his own family, a situation that has had dire economic consequences. He further emphasized the community’s inability to raise the required ransom funds, leaving them in a state of profound distress.
“Our sole remaining hope rests with the security agencies and the government,” Peter added.
As of the time of this report, Mohammed Jalige, the Public Relations Officer for the Kaduna State Police, had not responded to multiple calls made by our correspondent.
