Tinubu Appoints Fela Durotoye and Others as Presidential Media Aides

President Bola Tinubu has officially announced the appointment of five individuals to key positions within his presidential advisory team. This significant development was conveyed through a press release issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, under the title ‘President Tinubu appoints new Presidential Media Advisory team members.’

Among the appointees, Mr. Fela Durotoye, aged 52, stands out as he assumes the role of Senior Special Assistant to the President for National Values & Social Justice. Durotoye, a respected business consultant, also presides over the GEMSTONE Nation Builders Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to training young individuals in transformative leadership and social change.

Mr. Fredrick Nwabufo, a prominent journalist and communications specialist, has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement.

Mrs. Linda Akhigbe, a Mass Communication graduate from Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo state, will take on the responsibilities of Senior Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Communications. Additionally, Akhigbe will serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission. Before her recent appointment, she served as Channels Television’s Senate correspondent and hosted ‘The Gavel,’ a program focused on the activities of the National Assembly.

Mr. Aliyu Audu, the Chairman of the APC Rebirth, a notable pressure group within the All Progressives Congress, has been named Special Assistant to the President for Public Affairs.

Completing the list of appointees is Mr. Francis Abah, who will assume the role of Personal Assistant to the President for Special Duties.

In his directive to the newly appointed members of the Media and Publicity directorate, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of decorum and decency in their interactions with the public. He underlined their pivotal role in advancing his vision of renewing hope among Nigerians through a restructured economy and a unified society that caters to the needs of all citizens, regardless of their differences.
