Decomposing Body of Kidnapped Ebonyi Polytechnic Deputy Registrar Unearthed in Imo Community

Tension Grips Ezeala as Kidnapped Deputy Registrar’s Decomposing Corpse is Discovere In a distressing turn of events, the tranquil atmosphere of Ezeala, within the Umuezeala autonomous community of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area in Imo State, was shattered on Tuesday. The discovery of the decomposing remains of Innocent Obi, the Deputy Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, Ebonyi state, sent shockwaves through the community.

Obi, a native of Ezeala, had returned to his hometown from his base to partake in the funeral ceremonies of a close relative. Tragically, the homecoming took a nightmarish turn when armed assailants forcibly seized him from his residence at approximately 10 p.m.

In the days that followed, concerned villagers initiated a search party, but it wasn’t until Sunday afternoon that they received an alarming tip-off. A decomposing corpse was discovered lying between Ehime Mbano and Ahiazu Mbaise. Upon arrival at the scene, the unsettling truth unfolded – the lifeless body was identified as that of their fellow community member, Innocent Obi.

The heinous act has sown panic and distress within the community, leaving residents grappling with fear and uncertainty. When reached for comment, Henry Okoye, the spokesperson of the state police command, revealed that he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

Efforts to gather information from the Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, where Obi was employed, proved futile. Calls to the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Adline Okeke, remained unanswered, and text messages sent to her mobile phone received no response at the time of this report on Tuesday. The investigation into this disturbing incident is ongoing, with the community left seeking answers and solace in the face of this tragic loss.
