19-year-old Girl Arrested for Stealing Newborn Baby in Bauchi State

In a shocking incident that has left the community of Ishehi Hamlet in Misau Local Government Area, Bauchi State, in disbelief, a 19-year-old woman has been apprehended by the police for her alleged involvement in stealing a newborn baby. The suspect, identified as Hajara Usman, reportedly colluded with an 18-year-old man, Ibrahim Usman, of Dugurgama Hamlet, in this heinous act.According to the official statement from the Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the incident came to light when a resident of the Galawa Area in Akuyam District, Misau LGA, reported that his daughter’s newborn baby had been taken. The heart-wrenching theft occurred at approximately 4:30 am.Swift action was taken by the police upon receiving the report. A team of diligent detectives was immediately dispatched to investigate the matter, leading to the apprehension of the alleged perpetrators. Hajara Usman was found in possession of the stolen infant, and her co-conspirator, Ibrahim Usman, was also apprehended.At this time, the police are still conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the motives behind this disturbing incident. The suspects will be carefully profiled, and charges will be filed in court based on the evidence gathered during the course of the investigation.In a separate development, the Bauchi State Police Command’s detectives made another significant discovery during their operations. Acting on credible intelligence received from the village head of Sabon Garin Tulu, the officers recovered a sack containing an AK-47 rifle, along with six rounds of live ammunition. The firearm had been abandoned by an unknown person who fled upon sighting security personnel. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect and unravel the circumstances surrounding the presence of the weapon.The Commissioner of Police has emphasized the paramount importance of intelligence gathering in modern policing.
