This disturbing act of abandonment occurred on a Sunday, where Chidimma had journeyed to the community for agricultural work.The distressing cries of the defenseless child caught the attention of vigilant residents on Tuesday, prompting them to swiftly alert both security authorities and the state Ministry of Women and Social Welfare.Upon rescue, the infant was urgently transported to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, where he received immediate medical attention.Tragically, Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, the Media Assistant to the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, confirmed the devastating news of the baby’s passing on Thursday.
