Adamawa Police Set to Unveil Schoolboy’s Murder Investigation Findings on Monday

In response to the directive issued by Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, the Commissioner of Police for the state, Afolabi Adeniyi, has launched a thorough investigation into the tragic demise of a 17-year-old boy, Abdullahi Abba, affectionately known as Abdallah. The Adamawa State Police Command has officially confirmed that the investigation has been concluded, with the findings set to be made public on Monday. In an official statement, the Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Ngurore, provided insight into the developments, stating, “The governor directed the Commissioner of Police to investigate the alleged murder of the schoolboy. I can confirm to you that the investigation has been completed, and the report will be released on Monday. We are going to present the report of the investigation to the Governor on Monday, and I will ensure you receive a copy as well. I want to assure the public that justice will be served in this case,” Ngurore affirmed to Sunday PUNCH.This investigation stems from the tragic incident involving Abdallah, who was reportedly subjected to severe mistreatment by members of Operation Farauta, a task force comprising police and military personnel dedicated to combating crime within the state.Sources familiar with the matter indicate that the victim fell into unconsciousness following the alleged assault. Tragically, Abdallah passed away on Wednesday, August 9, after several days of medical treatment at the Modibo Adama Teaching Hospital in Yola.It is reported that the late Abdallah was taken into custody on August 5, subsequently enduring brutal treatment following a complaint lodged by a neighbor regarding a missing phone. The neighbor had accused Abdallah of theft, which precipitated the involvement of the task force.
